about forty winks

We started Forty Winks in 2010 to create a comfortable and holistic bra fitting and shopping experience for all of the Greater Boston community. We are a proud woman-owned and locally-owned business.

We believe it’s possible to find a bra you love and actually enjoy the process. To us, wearing lingerie can be an empowering act of self-care and self-determination.

While we offer expert fittings, we also recognize that you know your body and preferences best. Your comfort during all of our interactions is our top priority to make sure you walk away with pieces that fit your needs, life, and style.

We cater to a diverse range of clients of all ages, sizes, and genders. We are honored to work with our trans and non-binary community, teenagers shopping for their first bra, seniors, and new moms. We have extensive experience helping customers shop for boudoir shoots and bridal lingerie.

We're open daily 11a-7p. We carry sizes 30A-44L, XS-3X.

About Bra Fittings

We offer walk-in fittings every day of the week, but we also offer scheduled fittings Monday-Friday.

We carry over 90 bra sizes and 60 different brands in store and online. Sizes include XS-3X and 30-44, A-L. We cater to a diverse range of clients of all ages, sizes, and genders. We are a proud, woman-owned and locally-owned business.

During your expert fitting you will receive size and style recommendation for your size and shape while also recognizing that you know your body and preferences best. Your comfort during all of our interactions is our top priority to make sure you walk away with pieces that fit your needs, life, and style.

All of our employees are trained to fit by sight through hours of hands-on experience. We do not use measuring tapes. We work closely with customers to ensure they receive the best fit and experience.

WHO WE ARE

We're Rachel (a book-loving, long walk-taking Mainer) and Meredith (an art-loving, enthusiastic-sewing Vermonter). We met while working at Mint Julep, another locally owned boutique, and quickly realized that our friendship was also destined to be a business partnership.

As we listened to friends and community complain about their bras and underwear, the idea for a welcoming, fun, indie lingerie shop formed in our minds.

14 years, 3 babies and many risks later, we still have big, big dreams for Forty Winks.

Believes chaplaincy can be as powerful in the fitting room as it can be from the pulpit or the town hall, which is why she spends her time away from Harvard Divinity School helping customers feel empowered, grounded and joyful about the beautiful things they wear!
